In London’s cultural district
Our London office is at Bankside in Southwark, London SE1. This cultural hub is vibrant and pedestrian friendly, so you can take a stroll along the tree-lined Southbank (to see the London Eye and Tate Modern), discover theatres, pubs, fairs and arts venues, as well as all the smells and sounds of Flat Iron Square and Borough Market. Several mainline railway and tube stations are nearby.

A light and elevated environment
We have fantastic 360-degree panoramic views over London through our floor-to-ceiling windows, which make us feel on top of the world. A mixture of fixed- and flexi-workspaces are available across the office, with people free to move about, sharing ideas and catching up in booths and meeting rooms.
Work-life balance
Hours that reflect real life
At Square Enix, we like to have happy employees and that means striking a balance between work and home life. We trust people to get their jobs done and work with their managers to be productive and manage priorities. Many of us work with our colleagues in Japan and North America and so we encourage sensible time-management to support this. While some people do work in set shifts, anyone can request temporary modifications to help with the unexpected things life throws up.
Rewards
Your contribution to Square Enix will be greatly valued. In return, we provide a competitive reward package and flexible range of perks – from free digital copies of our games to gym memberships and access to an online mindfulness tool.
Core Benefits
A solid and competitive package designed to give you security, freedom and confidence in the future.
We regularly benchmark our roles in the London market to make sure we pay a good wage which reflects your experience. Our annual salary review process keeps us abreast of industry trends and employee development. You’ll have the added impetus of a generous (non-contractual) bonus scheme that pays out based on company / department performance and your personal contribution.
You can expect 25 days per year holiday allowance, plus standard bank holidays. We also give you the option to buy or sell up to 5 days per year as additional time to play with. As Christmas is the season of fun and parties, the whole team dedicates 3 days of their allowance to support the festive shutdown. This means everyone can take a break and recharge after a hard year’s work.
You can prepare for the years ahead with competitive company pension contributions via a Salary Sacrifice scheme which is tax-efficient. NB: We can't advise you on what to do with your pension.
We offer employees (opt in) complimentary Life Assurance and Income Protection insurance cover to provide peace of mind should the worst happen.
Life Style
Happiness starts outside the office and so we offer several benefits to give you a helping hand.
The cost of travelling to work can mount up and so we support in various ways. The Cycle to Work scheme and interest-free Season Ticket Loan will help spread the cost of your commute. Our office has shower facilities (including towels) and bike racks. We also have relationships with Countrywide, Dexter's and London Shared, who can help you with a fee-free property finding service.
Members of our team are able to recommend friends and contacts who have relevant skills and experience. If you introduce a permanent employee, we’ll say thanks with a referral bonus.
Wellbeing
The support you need to stay fit and well (mentally and physically) - so you can give us your best.
Complimentary (opt-in) cover for employees, with the opportunity to enhance cover levels and add partners and children (via payroll deduction).
Look after yourself with these useful extras, available annually through your provider of choice.
If you’re a gym bunny or just like to pop in every now and again, we have a number of gym membership cards that you’re welcome to make use of (on a first-come first-served basis).
We’re proud to be a proactive employer on mental health. You’re encouraged to take full advantage of Mental Health ‘First Aid’ training and Unmind.com membership (a digital mental wellbeing platform).
Recruitment FAQs
What happens after you apply?
What is your approach to recruitment?
We value skills, passion, diversity and creativity at Square Enix. Recruitment is very much a two-way process: matching talent with business needs. We want you to feel inspired and excited by the prospect of shared success - and we keep the process flowing with regular updates throughout.
What happens after I apply?
Your CV and covering letter will be reviewed by our HR team and hiring manager and we then draw up a shortlist of interesting candidates with relevant experience.
Shortlisted candidates are invited to interview. Typically, this has two stages:
- Initial interview to understand your experience and skills. This will be with the hiring manager and may be by telephone or skype.
- Follow-up interview for a deeper dive into your experience and how this is relevant to the job. We will ask questions to assess your fit for the role and team. This is also a good chance for you to meet some of your colleagues and the head of department. You may also meet a member of the HR team for a ‘cultural fit’ interview as part of a second or third round.
If the role has specific knowledge or technical skill requirements, you may be invited to undertake some testing too. We appreciate that this will take some time, but hope that you find it a valuable chance to learn more about the type of work you might be expected to complete.
Will I get feedback?
If you come in for an interview, Square Enix will be happy to give you feedback. This is a niche industry, so if this isn't the right role for you now, you may be a good fit in the future. We like to keep in touch with talent, as you never know when our paths may cross again.
