What is STRANGER OF PARADISE FINAL FANTASY ORIGIN?
Some of you unfamiliar with the game may be wondering what this game is all about. Long story short, it’s about action - brilliantly brutal, fast-paced action that tests your reactions and battle strategy in equal measure.
Developed by KOEI TECMO GAMES (Nioh series), STRANGER OF PARADISE FINAL FANTASY ORIGIN is a dark and visceral action RPG that presents a bold take on the FINAL FANTASY series, while celebrating its amazing 35 year legacy!
You play as Jack Garland, who along with his allies Ash, Jed, Neon and Sophia, sets off from the Kingdom of Cornelia to defeat Chaos. If you’re a fan of the original FINAL FANTASY game, some of those names may be ringing a bell, but we’ll let you discover what it all means.
As Jack, you’ll fight your way through intricate levels inspired by locations from the FINAL FANTASY series, taking on hordes of foes in exciting and challenging combat. The odds are against you, but fortunately the hero is a Jack of all trades, able to make use jobs that define his role in combat.
For example, you can switch seamlessly from a sword-swinging superstar to a martial arts master in seconds, making for exciting and unpredictable combat that never gets old! Plus it’s feels ludicrously good to shatter all these iconic monsters into crystal.
What editions of the game are available?
There are two versions of the game available on Steam: the Standard Edition, and the Digital Deluxe Edition.
The Standard Edition includes the base game, at the very reasonable price of £34.99.
As for what’s in the Digital Deluxe Edition… short answer: everything! This version contains all the content available for the game, including the main campaign and all three additional DLC missions.
These are:
Trials of the Dragon King: Set after the main campaign, Jack and his entourage take on challenges from the Dragon King Bahamut himself. It introduced new story, some super tough boss battles and three new jobs, including Summoner to call upon the Dragon King himself!
Wanderer of the Rift: Jack faces a challenge unlike any before when a new visitor who may be familiar to FINAL FANTASY fans arrives before him. It’s Jack vs Gilgamesh - need we say more?
DIFFERENT FUTURE: Jack’s story reaches its epic conclusion. Guided by an enigmatic moogle, Jack travel to a city in a different dimension. This journey puts him up against some familiar foes, including Omega and the Emperor, as he seeks to complete his mission once and for all.
In addition, it includes a digital art book and digital mini soundtrack; and is available for £49.99.
For those with the Standard Edition, the Season Pass, which includes the three additional missions is available, and you can also upgrade to the Deluxe Edition if you so desire.
