The DioField Chronicle releases tomorrow for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and Steam.

There’s a lot to love with this one - the fascinating world that fuses fantasy, medieval and modern-day influences, the memorable characters, an epic story that deals with big themes like death and betrayal, the superb soundtrack and - most importantly - the satisfying combat that puts your tactical thinking to the test!

It’s a recipe that makes an amazing strategy RPG - and one that you can experience for yourselves in just a few short hours:

About The DioField Chronicle

So what can you expect when you play the full version of The DioField Chronicle?

You take command of the elite Blue Fox mercenary group, guiding these brave warriors through many challenging battles in an epic tale full of drama, political intrigue and action.

Combat uses the Real-Time Tactical Battle system - or ‘RTTB’ for short. As the name implies, during battles, everything plays out in real-time. That means that unlike other strategy RPGs, enemies don’t sit and wait for their turn - when you move, they move.

This makes for tense battles, where the situation can change at any moment. A strategy that worked at the start of a battle may lose effectiveness as conditions change, so you need to be ready with new tactics and decisive orders if you want to prevail over your foes.

Combat is further enhanced by the presentation, which presents these explosive skirmishes with a beautiful and richly detailed diorama visual style. Add a stunning soundtrack, with music by Ramin Djawadi and Brandon Campbell, known best for their work on Game of Thrones, and you’ll discover that the game is a real audio-visual treat!

The game’s also intended to suit players of all skill level and experience. Multiple difficulty levels mean that if you’re a strategy RPG novice, or just someone who cares more about story than challenge, the game welcomes you with open arms.

On the other hand, if you’re someone who eats and breathes SRPGs, crank that difficulty up and prepare for an intense tactical challenge that will push you to the limit!

Don’t forget - you can start the demo now!

Of course, you’ll know all this already if you tried the recent demo. It takes you through the first chapter of the game, introduces you to some key characters, and gives you a taste of that wonderful RTTB system.

And yes, progress does carry over to the full game.

How does the story continue from the demo?

If you played the demo, you saw how a certain tragedy makes four heroes, Andrias Rhondarson, Fredret Lester, Iscarion Colchester and Waltaquin Redditch, form the Blue Foxes, a mercenary unit with joint leadership.

You may be wondering: what’s next?

The story continues in the full game, as warships from the Schoevian Empire are sighted off the east coast of DioField Island - the home of the Kingdom of Alletain.

The Empire was formed by thieves who has been conquering the mainland. In response, the other nations formed the Rowetale Alliance, and the two groups have been in fierce conflict since.

Naturally, the people of Alletain are fearful of invasion and war arriving on their island, and knights and mercenaries are rushed to the naval base. A quiet standoff has begun.

While all this political intrigue and military posturing is going on, the Blue Foxes are at work, hunting hordes of demi-humans that are attacking people and villages, advancing towards important locations in the country.

It seems that bandits have ordered the demi-humans to retrieve Jade - a very valuable mineral used for magic and sorcery.

It won’t surprise you to learn that before long, the Blue Foxes are pulled into the central conflict between the Kingdom of Alletain, the Schoevian Empire, and the Rowetale Alliance.

As for whether their story will end in triumph or tragedy… well, that’s for you to find out!
