Life is Strange: Double Exposure is intended to be a game for everyone. Regardless of the skill or ability of the player, it’s important to us that all can enjoy Max Caulfield’s new reality-bending murder mystery as comfortably as possible.

To that end, there are numerous features and settings in the game, which can be enabled to disabled to tailor the experience to your own comfort level. Here’s what’s included:

The Accessibility Menu in Life is Strange: Double Exposure, showing many of the options in the game.

Longer Choice Times

Sometimes you’ll have to make difficult decisions against the clock. This option increases the amount of time given to make these timed decisions.

Camera Assist

When this setting is enabled, the camera will stay behind Max at all times without the need for the player to control it manually.

Camera Shake

Turning camera shake off will minimize how much the camera jerks around and rumbles during the game

Simple Power Effects

This simplifies the visual effect of Max’s shift power by lowering the brightness.

Major Choice Confirmation

This setting enables prompts after major choices in the game. You’ll be asked to confirm your decision before continuing on.

Skip Gameplay

This allows you to skip gameplay that might be difficult for some players. This includes more complex physical interactions, such as using multiple inputs at once or gameplay that relies heavily on visuals to solve.

Hotspot Pinging

Press the assigned key or button, and the game will reveal all interaction points in the area. A sound will also play, indicating where an interaction is in relation to the player (setting your audio to stereo and using headphones are recommended for this setting).

Hotspot Sound In Range

Plays a sound when interaction points can be activated.

Alternate Power Controls

Activate this setting and you’ll be able to use Max’s powers with a single key or button press, instead of needing to hold it down or press multiple keys at once.

Power UI Indicator

This adds a user interface element for Shift spots in the world (Shift spots are specific areas in the environment where Max is able to Shift between the different timelines).

Display Timelines

When you Shift timelines, you can see a notification at the top of the screen that informs you as to which one you’re in - Living or Dead.

You can modify how this is displayed:

  • Timed: The current timeline is displayed for a limited amount of time after shifting or after recalling your current objective.
  • Always: The current timeline is always displayed.
  • Never: The current timeline is never displayed.

Focal Circle

This enables a focal circle at the center of the screen.

Content Warning Pause

Life is Strange: Double Exposure deals with some serious themes. Thus setting lets you enable content warnings, which pause the game with a popup window.

All these options can be activated at any time from the Settings > Accessibility menu both on the main menu and in-game.
