Today we’re happy to announce that The Diofield Chronicle launches across PC and consoles September 22, 2022. What’s more, a new demo will be available on consoles from August 10, and you can pre-order today.

We have a new trailer too – take a look:

We bet you still have a few questions about the game, like what’s the story? How do battles work? How can I get it? Read on and we’ll take a closer look:

The Setting

War is looming and the Empire is a power to be reckoned with.

The entire continent was ravaged by the devastating war between the Empire and the Alliance. However, one nation remained unaffected by chaos until now: The Kingdom of Alletain on DioField Island.

The Kingdom of Alletain is rich in Jade - a precious mineral, prized for its use as a base ingredient in magic and sorcery. A valuable resource will always draw attention, and inevitably the conflicting Empire and the Alliance both turn their gaze towards the island.

A band of elite mercenaries calling themselves Blue Fox arise amidst the flames and the chaos.

The Blue Fox Mercenaries

In the DioField Chronicle you’ll meet an array of interesting characters. For now, though, let’s take a closer look at the leaders of the Blue Fox Mercenaries.

Take control of Andrias, A resourceful leader who is well versed in the Ancient Sorcery.

Alongside him, childhood friend Frederet joins your crew. He could easily serve as an infantryman but opts to gallop across the battlefield on horseback.

For ranged attacks Iscarion covers the group. The son of a minor noble, he’s a prestigiously talented archer, which serves him well while working as a mercenary.

Last but no way least is Waltaquin. She became interested in magic at an early age and studied Ancient Sorcery, developing into a peerless magicker.

How do battles work in The DioField Chronicle?

The DioField Chronicle introduces ‘Real Time Tactical Battles’ - or RTTB for short.

Combat takes place in real time. You can pause the game to survey the battlefield, and give orders to your team, but everything plays out at the same time. That includes your and your enemies’ attacks!

Cunning tactics are vital, but you also need to be ready to adjust your strategy to accommodate the ever-changing flow of battle. Make clever use of a variety of skills, classes (troop types) and equipment to attack the enemy and complete your mission.

When can I play The DioField Chronicle?

On August 10, you’ll be able to download a demo of The DioField Chronicle on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. You’ll be able to experience this new battle system yourself and all of your progress carries over to the full game.

The full game releases for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and Steam on September 22, 2022!

As well as the Standard Edition, there’s a Digital Deluxe Edition that gives you in-game items to use at the start of the game, including the Knight’s Spear weapon and Mystical Ring accessory. You’ll also get digital versions of The DioField Chronicle soundtrack and Digital Artbook.

What’s more, if you preorder any version of the game, you’ll get some awesome bonus content, including a Rhopasto Knife (in an exclusive color) and a Recruit’s Bangle for use in the main game.
