SQUARE ENIX LONDON

  • Why us?

Come and be part of our lively team in the UK capital, creating some of the best-loved stories, characters and universes in the world of digital entertainment.

What’s it like to be at the heart of all this? You’ll find a healthy balance of fun and focus, relaxation and professionalism. We pride ourselves on inspiring our people to grow, contribute and thrive in a friendly environment that supports creativity and collaboration.

  • Location

    In London’s cultural district

Our office is at Bankside in Southwark, London SE1. This cultural hub is vibrant and pedestrian friendly, so you can stroll along the tree-lined Southbank (to see the London Eye and Tate Modern), discover theatres, pubs, fairs and arts venues, as well as the smells and sounds of Flat Iron Square and Borough Market. Several mainline railway and tube stations are nearby.

  • Environment

    A light and elevated environment

We have fantastic 360-degree panoramic views over London through our floor-to-ceiling windows, which make us feel on top of the world. A mixture of fixed- and flexi-workspaces are available across the office, with people free to roam about, sharing ideas and catching up in booths and meeting rooms.

  • Work-Life Balance

    Hours that reflect real life

At Square Enix, we like happy employees and that means striking a balance between work and home life. We trust people to get their jobs done and work with their managers to be productive and manage priorities. Many of us work with our colleagues in Japan and North America and so we encourage sensible time-management to support this. While some work in set shifts, anyone can request temporary modifications to help with the unexpected things life throws up.

  • Social

    From pub quizzes to tennis

You can tell by our welcome area that we’re a friendly and sociable bunch. You’ll find a lunch zone, coffee bar, meeting area and bar fridges stocked with wines, beers and soft drinks for our regular office socials. Colleagues in the London office enjoy all sorts of activities, from tabletop gaming to football, running, mindfulness sessions and Japanese lessons. If you have an interest or passion, you can sure that someone else will share it too.

Rewards

Your contribution to Square Enix will be greatly valued. In return, you are promised a competitive reward package and flexible perks – from free digital copies of our games to 30 days annual leave and access to an online mindfulness tool.

ROLE APPLICATION FAQs

  • What is your approach to hiring?
We value diversity, passion, skills and creativity at Square Enix. Recruitment is very much a two-way process: matching talent with business needs. We want you to feel inspired and excited by the prospect of shared success - and we keep the process flowing with regular updates throughout.
  • What happens after I apply?
Your CV and covering letter will be reviewed by our HR team and hiring manager and we then draw up a shortlist of interesting candidates to invite to interview. Typically, this has two stages:
    1. Initial interview to understand your experience and skills. This will be with the hiring manager and may be by telephone or zoom.
    2. Follow-up interview for a deeper dive into your experience and how this is relevant to the job. We will ask questions to see if you’re a good fit for the role and team. This is also a chance for you to meet some of your colleagues and the head of department. You may also meet a member of the HR team for a ‘getting to know you’ interview as part of a second or third round.

If the role has specific knowledge or technical skill requirements, you may be invited to undertake some testing too. We appreciate that this will take some time, but hope you find it a valuable chance to learn more about the type of work you might be expected to complete.
  • Will I get feedback?
Yes. If you come in for an interview, Square Enix will be happy to give you feedback. This is a niche industry, so if this isn't the right role for you now, you may still be a good fit in the future. We like to keep in touch with talent, as you never know when our paths may cross again.
